Greedy Girl Review

An adventure is only a meal away. Greedy Girl features some of the best ethnic Greek and Indian food in Cleveland. This spot is a local favorite thanks to its great street food menu, location and cozy atmosphere.

Located in the Cleveland Heights neighborhood, Greedy Girl fits right in with the rest of the area. A little odd, a little hipster and a whole lot of delicious. It’s the perfect place for an ethnic food joint and it has proved to be successful for that reason. It’s currently only a one location restaurant, but here’s to hoping that in the coming years they will expand to more places around the city.

They offer brunch, lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday (they are closed all day on Mondays). Stop in from 10 am – 7 pm Tuesday through Friday, 9 am – 4 pm on Saturday, or 9 am – 2 pm on Sunday.

The brunch menu features Omelets, waffles and french toast all under $9, and all with a yummy Indian or Greek spin on them. Customers love the “Vegan “It is, We Swear” Omelet” (Vegan friendly omelet roll made without dairy or eggs. Contains chickpea flour (Channa), onions, cilantro in vegan flatbread. Seasoned with Indian masala and fresh herbs. No dairy, no meat. Ingredients are vegan but prepared in a kitchen which serves non-vegan and non-vegetarian foods. Served with potatoes) Vegans and non-vegans alike agree this a must-order.

Another fan favorite is the “Masala Potato Samosas” (Indian samosas are spiced potato filling in a crispy wrapper and deep-fried). You can find this dish under the Indian section of the menu, that also includes the “Bombay Continental Chicken Salad Sandwich” (Very mild, with roasted boneless chicken pieces and a sprig of cilantro. Mixed with Paradise Restaurant secret sauce [Bombay]) and the “Indian Lamb Sliders” (come in a set of 2. Seasoned ground lamb with a mix of Indian spices, cilantro and lime juice. Served on a slider challah bun with grilled onion, tomato, lettuce and our house-made Indian style tomato ketchup).

Moving on to the Greek section of the menu, there is just as much to choose from. Regulars love the “Pastitsio Meatballs” (Think of it as a Greek lasagna meatball. Pasta, seasoned ground lamb, bechamel sauce and a hint of cinnamon shaped into a ball, deep fried then sprinkled with Kefalotyri cheese [Greek semi-soft cheese]) and the “Gyro Greedy Girl Style” (housemade ground lamb and pork gyro meat, deeply flavored with house made seasoning mix, served on a flatbread with raw onions, tomato and garlic yogurt feta dill sauce. Unable to be made without pork, but you can substitute paneer or tofu for $1).

As if all that wasn’t enough, they offer different kinds of salads, sides, apps AND desserts! They cover everything from “Coconut Cauliflower” (Caramelized onions with cauliflower florets, shredded coconut and Indian spice) to “Vegan Salted Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies.”

Stop in and see this quirky, delicious addition to Cleveland Heights at the location at 2158 S.Taylor Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. Call the restaurant at (216) 465-9877 or check out the website here.
