Grumpy’s Cafe Review – Tremont – Cleveland Ohio

The cutest little brunch spot you ever did see. Perfect for a late, (but delicious!) start to the day. Housed in the popular Tremont neighborhood, Grumpy’s Cafe is the perfect place to start while adventuring around the area.

While Grumpy’s has some stiff competition like Lucky’s Cafe and Heck’s Cafe, it stands apart thanks to it’s super friendly staff, great selection and truly one of the biggest highlights for customers: a free parking lot.

While a private parking lot may not seem like a big treat, in the Tremont neighborhood it definitely is. While most of Tremont offers free street parking, finding a spot can be a nightmare and not worth the trip. Well, Grumpy’s is worth it!

The menu is large and has something for everyone, including lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options. From the breakfast and weekend brunch menu, people love the “Veggie Benedict” (Poached eggs on English muffin with tomato, avocado and hollandaise with Cajun home fries) for $11, the “Cinnamon Apple Walnut French Toast” (House baked wheat bread encrusted w/ walnuts, topped w/sauteed apples in a cinnamon honey glaze) for $11 and the enormous, “The Morning After Omelet” (10 egg omelet with sausage, bacon, chorizo, peppers, onions, Cajun home fries in omelet, cheddar, sausage gravy) for $22.

For weekend brunch, they offer some additional savory options including: “Grumpy’s Meatloaf” (Served with with Cajun home fries and gravy) for $12, “Kristi’s B.E.L.T.” (Bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato on toasted wheat bread with Cajun home fries) for $9. It is important to note that this Grumpy’s does not serve alcohol, so you won’t be able to get your boozy brunch fix, but honestly, the food is so good, you might not even notice.

For lunch and dinner, they offer amazing appetizers, salads, sandwiches and full entrees. Notable entrees include the “Vegetable Stir-Fry” (Fresh veggies, brown rice, almonds, sesame ginger soy glaze), the “Colman’s Pierogi Skillet” (Potato and cheese pierogies, chorizo, onions, peppers and melted cheddar cheese) and the highlight, “Make Your Own Mac & Cheese” (Choose two ingredients along with cavatappi pasta in a cheddar and parmesan cream sauce. Ingredients include: chicken, bacon, ham, andouille, chorizo, broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach or peppers and onions), all of which come in at $12.

They also offer seven divine desserts like the “Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzels” for $6 and the “Lemon Italian Creme Cake” (Light Fluffy layers of Lemon Creme and Lemon Vanilla Cake sprinkled with powdered sugar) for $3.75. All the desserts range from .75 to $7.

Overall, Grumpy’s is a great brunch spot with a huge menu, that’s located in a great spot and will be sure to be the highlight of your weekend.

Grumpy’s is open Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 3 pm, 7 am to 10 pm Friday, Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm and Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm.
