Munch Restaurant Review

A quaint, healthy, affordable spot. Like most vegan cafes, Munch has a great lunch selection. It features great light options to keep you going through your hectic day with meals that make you feel good and are actually good for you!

Originally opening under the name Shticks Vegetarian Kitchen on Case Western University’s campus in 1997, they are truly one of the first great vegetarian spots. They now reside a little outside of the city in Solon and also offering catering. This one will be a bit of a drive if you live downtown or near downtown. But, with a menu of this size it’s well worth the trip. There’s truly something for everyone: melts, pizzas, salads, wraps and so much more! Munch is even a great place to take this kids. It has a full kids menu that offers some of the little tike’s favorites like quesadillas and cheese pizza.

One of the most popular choices it the “Pitza” (Your choice of Marinara or Blanco sauce (olive oil, garlic, basil, and oregano). Topped with mounds of mozzarella. Add on extras.). This crossover between pizza and pita is perfection. Other favorites were from the wrap section of the menu and include the “Barri’s BLT” (Bacon (hog or turkey), lettuce, tomato, and herbed mayo) and “Velma’s Veg-O-Matic” (Loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, sprouts, hummus or herbed mayo).

Following wraps, the menu leads into it’s great sandwiches. Some highlights from this part of the menu have to be the “Red Sea” (Sweet roasted red pepper hummus, baba and tabbouleh), “Simon’s Cilantro Chicken Salad” (Oven roasted chicken breast, cilantro, carrots, celery, honey, and mayo), “Papa’s Portobello” (Marinated portobello sauteed  with red onion, and herbed mayo) and “My Wife’s Tuna” (White tuna, celery and mayo).

Being a true cafe, they have some great beverage choices too. What’s a cafe without coffee? This is a great place to stay and sit awhile because they have free refills on coffee (iced coffee, too!). If you’re not a java junkie, try one of their delicious smoothies. They come in the amazing flavors: strawberry banana, peanut butter, spinach, pineapple, blueberry, kale, ginger, and mango! If you’re stopping in around breakfast time or just need a light snack, their yogurt parfait might just be the perfect choice. It has yogurt, sweet strawberries, and granola in a cute little jar that will be sure to please.

Munch is the perfect place for a quick pit stop while running errands or lunch break on work. A great selection for whoever you might end up being with. It has all the necessary foods to keep you alert and ready to tackle your day at a great price point.

Stop in at the Solon location 11 am – 8 pm Monday through Saturday at 28500 Miles Rd. Solon, OH 44139. Call the restaurant at (216) 231-0922 or visit the website here.

*They will be taking a holiday break and will be closed from December 13 – Jan 2.
