TURN Bar and Kitchen Review – Inside Ritz Carlton Downtown Cleveland

Housed in the heart of the famed Ritz-Carlton, TURN Bar + Kitchen offers all the luxury one would expect for being located in a place like that. Clevelanders may recall the restaurant, Muse which use to sit in TURN’s place. Muse did not live up to the hype it was expected to have when it first opened. It fell short in terms of service and selection.

TURN manages to pick up the pieces and turn this restaurant that typically was only visited by the Ritz’ hotel guests, to a must-see spot for locals and visitors alike. People love the food, of course, but they also love the intent staff and beautiful interior of the space.

For breakfast, they have full-fledged hearty breakfasts that will be sure to fuel you for your day. Popular choices include, “Hung(a)ry” (Poached Egg, Dohar Paprika Sausage + Gravy, Pogacha Cheese Biscuit + Farmers Radish) for $20 and “Goulash for Breakfast” (Cattleman’s Goulash + Lángos, Crème Fraîche + Farmers Cheese + Egg Up) for $19. They do offer smaller options via their side menu, which features “Dohar Paprika Bacon,” “Wiencek’s Beer Chicken Brat,” or a “Breakfast Pastry” all of which come in at $7.

The lunch and dinner menu is combined making it seems a little bit overwhelming at a glance. The Snacks section features great options like the “Classic Polish Meatball” for $9 and the “Drunk Chicken Liver” for $11. The Soup + Salad menu has all your favorites along with some unique items including the “Chicken Schnitzel” (Heirloom Potato + Baby Greens + Lemon + Mustard Vinaigrette) for $15.

Moving on to Between the Bread, they include traditional sandwiches like the “Hot Corned Beef” (Kitchen Cured Brisket + Russian Dressing + Swiss Cheese, Kraut + Jewish Rye) for $17 along with some not-so-traditional like the “Not So Much ‘Polish Boy’” (Cheddar Chicken Brat + Sweet Potato Fries + BBQ Sauce + Slaw + Amoroso Roll) for $15. The Butcher Block menu ribs, steak, chicken and filets all of which are safe bets for any meat-lover. Line Caught has 5 great dishes, but people really love the “Grilled Faroe Island Salmon” for $30.

This is definitely the spot to go if you’re looking for someplace new and out-of-the-ordinary. It features great dishes, beautiful ambiance and wonderful service. After Muse being a bit of a disappointment, it’s nice to see that TURN Bar + Kitchen was able to turn that around.

TURN is open for breakfast from 7 am to 11 am and 11 am to 10 pm for lunch and dinner daily. The lounge section is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 2 am and Sunday from 11 am to 12 am. In addition, on the weekends they have a live DJ on Friday and Saturday from 8 pm to 12 am.

Stop in at the downtown location at 1515 W 3rd St. the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, OH 44113. Contact the restaurant via phone at: (216) 623-1300.
