When you go to the dentist, you will often have problems that need to be handles due to certain issues like cavities and more. But what you probably didn’t know is that despite the fact that a lot of foods are actually helpful for your teeth, you are more than likely eating a few that have a detrimental impact to your pearly whites. In this guide we’re going to tell you about some of the worst foods that cause the most problems with your teeth. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you about some things that can actually help to benefit your teeth as well.
What Are Those Worst Things?

Candies and Sweets – These foods leave residues and have refined sugar which breaks down into glycolic acids that can actually stick to your teeth more. If you’re going to eat sweets, eat the kind that you can get out of your mouth fast. Dark chocolate is safer (as a matter of fact most chocolate is actually a lot better than other sweets) because it can have benefits to your health.
Starchy Foods – These are similar to the sweets, and a lot of sweets (like breads and cakes) can actually have high amounts of starches that can stick to your teeth. Potato chips are just as bad, because they get trapped in your teeth often.
Soda is BAD Juju – Opt for other things than soda. If you’re needing a fast coffee fix, learn to like coffee, as it’s actually not as hard on your teeth. The amounts of sugars, acids, and the carbonation all break down the enamel in your teeth.
Cottonmouth Kings – Foods that dry out your mouth actually are bad news, even alcohol and medicine can affect the saliva production in your mouth.
The Good Foods

Healthy Veggies and Fruits – These are great, just like cheese and dairy products, they help your teeth by making your saliva flow, have healthy fiber that can improve your teeth by helping to give them exercise they need.
Teas – It doesn’t matter if you like green teas, black teas, or even herbal teas. They’re healthier for you than soda, and have polyphenols, antioxidants, and are usually loaded with healthy ingredients. If you want to use sugar or honey, just be sparingly about it, or you can always make the teas with a few slices of apple or lemon for extra flavor and sweetness.
